Toward the end of this old-time thriller about the secret daughter of the infamous Fu Manchu, Joan Marshall (Frances Dade ) is captured and hauled away down a secret passage by one of the woman's henchmen. she's gagged over the mouth with a white cloth and soon tied to a large wooden chair. Later, one of our heroes is caught while trying to rescue her (he does remove the gag) and bound up next to her.
An elaborate mechanism which will pour acid over Joan's face is set up and the young man is left with one hand free, clutching a dagger to deliver a merciful death blow to his sweetie rather than watch her suffer. Fortunately Scotland Yard's finest are hard on the case, and arrive in the nick of time.
