A children's hospital charity function turns into a violent hostage situation when a stage magician turns out to be the Joker (more or less) and Dr. Leslie Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) is chloroformed while making a call to our hero to let him know. She's strapped to a spinning wheel onstage for the duration of the scene in which the the villain taunts and torments his captive audience.
