Our heroes run afoul of some heavily armed militia types in the woods, and after some close calls with the lurking Deadites, Kelly Maxwell (Dana DeLorenzo) and Pablo make a break for it, while Ash and Amanda Fisher (Jill Marie Jones) get handcuffed together to face a Deadite kept locked up in an old bomb shelter.
Kelly tries to lure one of the militia into a trap so they can take his gun, but it backfires. Pablo and Kelly are captured and bound at the wrists with zip-cuffs. Another Deadite "intervenes" and murders Kelly's tormentor. Pablo gets control of the truck and smashes the Deadite with it. He cuts himself and Kelly loose.
Meanwhile, Ash and Amanda do battle with a fire-breathing Deadite and manage to kill it with some agile teamwork. They're about to have a moment, but the kids interfere. After getting unlocked, Ash nonchalantly suggests Amanda kep the cuffs so they can "use them later".
