In this 1925 silent film Gertrude Olmstead plays Betty Watson, and towards the end of the film, she and her companions fall into the clutches a of a mad doctor who has taken control of a distant asylum for his own fiendish ends. Betty is grabbed by mysterious arms that emerge from under a platform that then sinks into the floor, as the menfolk are knocked out, sacked up, bound and thrown into a cellar. The guys make short work of their bonds and escape shortly after. Meanwhile, Betty is wheeled into a room covered with a sheet and strapped to a table. She is uncovered and threatened by a very gleeful Lon Chaney, who proceeds to make menacing moves and sweeps his hands around the outline of her body. She's rescued by our heroes and escorted away when the baddie is betrayed and finds himself gagged and strapped into his own electric chair.
